Cyber Tribe's 2025 FRC robot - Leviathan
Rocket City Regional - Huntsville, AL - Mar 12-15, 2025
Finished qualifications 4th of 44 teams with a 9-2 record - we had no chance to win the 2 qualifiers we lost, the alliances we had in those rounds were no match for the alliances we faced, even if we put up world-best performances
Had the highest Offensive Power Rating (OPR) and Expected Points Added (EPA) rating of all 44 teams at Rocket City.
Accepted an invitation from the 1st ranked qualifying team to join the #1 playoff alliance
Won Rocket City for the first time, with an alliance including Team 2338 - Gear It Forward from Oswego, IL and Team 10011 - Gem City Gridrunners from Dayton, OH. This qualified us for Championships in Houston.
We were the only one of the 44 teams to score three Level 4 Coral in autonomous in all 17 matches we played. There were only 2 other teams of the 44 participants capable of scoring three Level 4 Coral in auto, but they did not get them all in every match.
Our EPA rating of 65.6 put us 38th in the world out of more than 2900 teams that had competed by the conclusion of this event and our OPR rating of 89.4 was 12th in the world. This is the highest mid-season ratings we've ever had. We will definitely drop as other teams improve their robots, but we hope to finish the season with our highest-ever rank positions.
Cyber Tribe delivers a clutch performance in the second Finals
match at Rocket City to crown Alliance 1 as the champions
Smoky Mountains Regional - Sevierville, TN - Apr 2-5, 2025
Finished qualifications 2nd of 47 teams with an 8-2 record. This was especially impressive given that we had the 5th most difficult strength of schedule of the 47 teams. We had the strategy and capability to grab ranking points from some unexpected situations.
We had the highest Expected Points Added (EPA) rating and the 2nd highest Offensive Power Rating (OPR) of the 47 Smoky Mountains Regional teams
We declined the offer of a first pick from the highest qualifying team and chose to captain playoff Alliance 2 and selected 8570 BInary-Bolts from Mumbai, India and 3492 P.A.R.T.s from Winfield, WV.
We had two disasters in playoffs, so we did not win the event. Our teammate playing defense in our first playoff match received a red card for hitting a robot that was nearly on its side beached on algae. No comment here on the appropriateness of that call, but our alliance was DQ'd and we immediately had to fight our way through the loser's bracket.
We made it to the loser's finals and our other teammate became incapacitated for a while in that match. As we rushed to overcome the loss of points, we made some uncharacteristic mistakes and could not close the gap. We had no margin for error after the red card loss and we were eliminated.
For the second regional in a row, we were able to score three coral on level 4 in autonomous in every round we played in qualifications and playoffs. This time, the judges noticed it and we won the Autonomous Award. At the end of the regular season, we are ranked #25 in the world in autonomous expected points added. This puts us ahead of legendary teams such as 254 The Cheesy Poofs and 125 NUTRONs.
At the end of the regular season we are ranked 95th in the world out of 3690 teams in Expected Points Added (EPA) with a rating of 73.2. We are #1 in Tennessee by a large margin.
We don't usually highlight a loss, but this match at Smoky Mountains shows what we are capable of to maximize ranking points from an un-winnable qualifier
FRC World Championships - Houston, TX - Apr 16-19, 2025
We were assigned to Curie Division, the most stacked with talent by far of the eight Championship divisions. We were also dealt a difficult 0.67 strength-of-schedule within Curie to multiply the challenge.
Finished qualifications at 5-4-1 and in 17th place out of 76 teams. The only teams with harder strength of schedule and a better qualifying position than us were 2046 Bear Metal, 4481 Rembrandts, and 7457 suPURDUEper Robotics. Elite teams! Most teams with a 0.67 SoS finished around 60th place.
Our alliance with 6329 Bucks' Wrath and 5813 Morpheus in Q99 put up 273 points, the highest qualifying score in all 127 qualifying matches.
We improved our Expected Points Added (EPA) rating to 79.3, which gave us an end-of-season position at 68th in the world out of 3690 teams. Our Autonomous EPA was 33rd best in the world. Our Offensive Power Rating (OPR) in the Curie Division was 95.1, which was 4th of the 76 championship-level teams.
We were selected to the #1 ranked playoff alliance in Curie Division with captain 7457 suPURDUEper Robotics from Indianapolis, IN, and 3005 RoboChargers from Dallas, TX. We made it to the 4th round of playoffs, but were eliminated before reaching the grand finals on the Einstein Field. There is definitely a story behind how the #1 alliance lost on Curie, but you'll have to ask someone who was there if you want details.
With our 68th place world EPA ranking and 33rd in autonomous, we have to conclude that Leviathan is the best robot to ever come out of the 4020 shop. The drive team might have had a little to do with that ranking as well.😉
The South teams up with New England to produce the highest score in Curie Division qualification matches at FRC Championships
