2023 - Stewie
Cyber Tribe's 2023 FRC robot is The Good Steward,
affectionately known as Stewie
Miami Valley Regional - Cincinnati, OH - Mar 15-18, 2023
Ranked 3rd of 51 teams after qualifications with a 9-1 record. We were one ranking point away from being ranked 1st and several ranking points were lost outside our control.
Became captain of the #2 ranked playoff alliance and selected 4028 The Beak Squad, a really strong team from Cincinnati, OH, and 3504 Girls of Steel, an all-girls team from Pittsburgh, PA
Beat the #1 ranked playoff alliance in the upper bracket finals, but lost to that same alliance in the grand finals after they came back through the lower bracket.
Won the Autonomous Award Sponsored by Ford
By finishing as the Captain of the Finalist alliance, we qualified for the World Championships in Houston.
After this week 3 event, we had an Expected Points Added (EPA) rating of 48.8, which was 118th in the world at that time out of 3286 teams and first of Tennessee teams.

Smoky Mountains Regional - Knoxville, TN - Mar 29 - Apr 1, 2023
Ranked 2nd of 38 teams after qualifications with an 8-2 record.
Became Captain of the #2 ranked playoff alliance and selected 325 Respawn Robotics from Hamilton, OH, and 3821 Pirabots from Belfry, KY.
Lost in the upper bracket finals to the #1 ranked alliance who played the match of their lives, achieving the highest score in the entire competition (including all their other playoff matches).
Lost in the finals of the lower bracket before we had a chance to come back against the #1 alliance. Our teammate, Respawn Robotics, broke their pickup early in that match and our alliance did not have enough firepower without the huge amount of offense they had been providing.
Won the Autonomous Award Sponsored by Ford.
After this week 5 event we improved our EPA rating to 53.6. Other high-end teams were improving also and the result is that we dropped slightly to rank 121 in the world at that point although we remained at #1 in Tennessee.

FRC World Championships - Houston, TX - Apr 19-22, 2023
Ranked 37 of 77 teams in the Milstein Division, with a qualification record of 6-4. This also happened to be the record our scouting system predicted as soon as the qualification schedule was released. Wins and losses, especially at Championships, depend strongly on the random choice of teammates and opponents in qualification.
We improved our EPA rating to 54.3. Given improvements by other teams, this resulted in being ranked 141 of 3286 teams (95.7 percentile) in the world at season's end.
We improved our teleop EPA from 23.9 at Miami Valley in week 3 to 33.5 after Championships. This reflects an improvement of almost 2 additional game pieces scored at the high level (or 5 at the low level) between those events. That's a very big gain driven by improvements to the robot and to our drive team skill.
We finished the season ranked 2nd in EPA of Tennessee teams after Team 4265 from Oak Ridge made amazing improvements to their robot for Championships and pushed to a 58.3 rating, which was 65th in the world.
Despite ranking 19th of 77 teams in EPA in the Milstein Division, we were not chosen to be one of the 32 playoff teams. Critical problems that caused our robot to not be runnable for big portions of our 8th and 9th qualification matches were very likely too worrisome for playoff alliance captains.
Our EPA and final ranking could have been much higher were it not for the aforementioned breakage and our choice to not engage the charge station in some qualification matches. Our teleop EPA after Championships was 107th in the world, but our overall EPA was only 141st because there were 3 matches where we missed out on 8 or 10 points per match by not engaging in the endgame phase.
