2024 - Allegro
Meet Allegro, Cyber Tribe's 2024 FRC robot
Smoky Mountains Regional - Knoxville, TN - Mar 3-6, 2024
Finished qualifications 2nd of 33 teams with a 9-2 record
Had the highest Offensive Power Rating (OPR) and Expected Points Added (EPA) rating of all 33 teams
Accepted an invitation from the 1st ranked qualifying team to join the #1 playoff alliance
Won Smoky Mountains for the first time, with an alliance including Team 801 - Horsepower from Merritt Island, FL and Team 4630 - Robodragons from Clinton, TN This qualified us for Championships in Houston
Won the Innovation in Control award - our first time winning this particular award. "Celebrates an innovative control system or application of control components – electrical, mechanical or software – to provide unique machine functions."
We were the only one of the 33 teams to score in the Trap in a competitive match. One other team was capable of a Trap score, but never succeeded in an actual match.
Our EPA rating of 26.4 put us 79th in the world out of more than 2000 teams that had competed by the conclusion of this event. This is the highest mid-season rating we've ever had. We knew it wouldn't last, but we had a very high-performing robot and drive team for an early-season event.

Cyber Tribe shows its all-around game in an early-season competition
and completes the only Trap score of the entire event.
Rocket City Regional - Huntsville, AL - Apr 3-6, 2024
Qualified 4th of 47 teams with an 8-2 record
Teams qualifying ahead of us included two top-40 in the world teams making long trips to Huntsville from Mexico and Illinois.
Captained the #3 playoff alliance and selected Team 4499 - Highlanders from Fort Collins, CO and Team 5800 - Magic Island Robotics from Santa Catarina, Brazil
Crashed out of playoffs after losing in the 2nd semifinal round after we had a Note get stuck in our robot and could only play defense for the majority of the match. We lost again in the 3rd semifinal round when our robot did not even move in the match because the memory card that holds the robot programming mysteriously popped out of our robot computer after we connected to the field, but before the match started.
We had a strong showing in Huntsville, but lost our chance to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Tremendous coordination between Tennessee, Colorado, and Brazil
results in a playoff win at the Rocket City Regional
FRC World Championships - Houston, TX - Apr 17-20, 2024
Qualified 31st of 74 teams in Johnson Division with a 6-4 record. Our pre-event scouting predicted us to qualify 32nd.
We were one of only 12 teams of the 74 championship-level teams in Johnson Division to successfully score in the Trap. We did it 3 times.
We increased our EPA to 30.0 from 26.4 in Week 1.5 and 28.2 in Week 6. This was only good enough to give us a season-ending ranking of 341 in the world out of 3474 teams (90.2 percentile). For Cyber Tribe, Allegro was probably the 2nd best robot we have ever built, but other teams around the world created their best robots ever and ranked higher than us.
We finished the season ranked #1 in EPA in Tennessee (again), with new contenders So-Kno Robo from Knoxville and Pioneers from Nashville finishing 2nd and 3rd. Perennial challengers Secret City Wildbots from Oak Ridge were only able to finish 4th in EPA this season.

Even at Championships they know that
"Their bot is wild, but their driver is Wilder"
Robo-Rodeo Off-season - Knoxville, TN - Sep 13-15, 2024
Band and other conflicts resulted in us bringing only a drive team of four students to Robo-Rodeo. Fortunately, that included our returning driver. We had a new operator for this event with only three practice sessions of experience.
There were only 14 robots competing, several of which were second robots from teams that also brought their prime competition robot.
Lost our first qualification match going against So-Kno and Secret City prime robots with no help, but then proceeded to win our remaining 10 quals matches, including our mentor-drive match with Andy and Reid at the helm, finishing 1st.
Four playoff captains were not allowed to select each other, so we chose the second robot from So-Kno and the second robot from Flagship for the #1 seeded playoff alliance.
Defeated the #4 alliance (Webb captain) in semifinal 1, defeated the #2 alliance (So-Kno captain) in semifinal 3, and took two straight from the #3 alliance (Secret City captain) in the finals to win Robo-Rodeo 2024.
